ABOUT THE JOB

Job Brief

  • Accounting compilation through Financial Reports; computing taxes; completing tax returns (Individuals, Corporations, Partnerships, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Recommend strategies to minimize tax liability by studying tax regulations; analyzing and evaluating various tax options
  • Prepare federal, state, and local tax returns by collecting, analyzing, and formatting financial information
  • Remit tax payments by requesting disbursements
  • Prepare quarterly payroll returns by collecting and analyzing financial and related information
  • Reconcile tax discrepancies by collecting and analyzing financial information
  • Maintain customer confidence and protects operations by keeping client's tax and personal information confidential
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

Skills and Requirements

  • Proven work experience as a Staff Accountant, Tax Analyst, or Tax Preparer
  • An EA License would be beneficial
  • Knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping procedures
  • Familiarity with account software packages (Accounting CS, QuickBooks, and Ultra Tax)
  • Knowledge in tax, forecasting, financial planning and strategy
  • Computer Literacy (MS Excel in particular)
  • Excellent analytical and time management skills
  • Strong numeracy skills
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Knowledge in researching business tax and accounting regulations
  • Understands legal compliance of firm
  • Actively practices due diligence and is objective when necessary
