Now Hiring for a 6 month Contract Senior Accountant (CPS or CMA) -

Remote with training in office - Monday - Friday from 8-5

Responsibilities:

  • Support preparation and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS/Local statutory.
  • Prepare and maintain thorough documentation of accounting procedures and process improvements.
  • General Ledger Maintenance: Oversee general ledger activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and adjustments.
  • Identify inefficiencies in current accounting processes and develop strategies to streamline operations and improve accuracy.
  • Lead the implementation of process improvements, including automation and system enhancements.
  • Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and responding to audit inquiries.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
  • Maintain and enhance internal controls to safeguard the company’s assets and ensure the accuracy of financial information.
  • Participate in or lead special accounting projects, such as system implementations, process improvements, and financial analysis initiatives. Experience in supporting the implementation of data mart/sub ledger a plus.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in the insurance or financial services industry, with a proven track record in process improvement.
  • Proficient in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Experience with process automation tools is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with exceptional attention to detail.
  • In-depth understanding of IFRS/GAAP, financial reporting, internal controls, and process optimization techniques.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying complex financial information clearly.
