Job DescriptionJob Description

The ideal candidate will be able to successfully balance the intricacies of captive management for their assigned portfolio of captive insurance companies, including the bookkeeping, accounting, customer service, and regulatory compliance responsibilities. This will be done by developing an appropriate level of communication with clients, external 3rd party providers, regulators, and internal team members to provide a superior client experience.

Responsibilities

Bookkeeping and Accounting

  • Record all insurance policies, prepare premium invoices, and record premium payments
  • Record all operating expenses and make all expense payments
  • Record all claims reserves, adjustments, and payments
  • Record all entries relative to investments, loans, and distributions
  • Prepare monthly reconciliations for all bank and investment accounts
  • Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements
  • Assist the CPAs with annual audits & tax related filings
  • Assist Actuaries with annual actuarial reserve opinions

Client Services

  • Coordinate responses to all inbound client inquiries and requests
  • Calculate and provide amounts available for investment on a quarterly basis
  • Prepare annual meeting agenda packages and attend annual meetings
  • Take and distribute annual meeting minutes for signature
  • Maintain accurate client records in the Agency Management System (AMS)

Regulatory Compliance

  • Coordinate responses to all inbound regulatory inquiries and requests
  • Prepare and coordinate the filing of all Annual Reports, Audited Financials, Statements of Actuarial Opinion, and all other regulatory required documents
  • Coordinate the approval of all distribution and loan requests
  • Coordinate changes in business plan and other documents as needed

Qualifications

  • BA/BS in Accounting
  • 4-6 years of Accounting experience strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge of GAAP and experience applying GAAP standards
  • Strong Excel skills, working knowledge of all Microsoft Office suite
  • Experience with QuickBooks a plus

Salary: starting at $70,000 based on experience.

Eligible for participation in the company's annual bonus program, employer paid health insurance, company sponsored retirement plan, 3 weeks PTO, and other voluntary benefit programs.
