Job Overview
The purpose of the Senior Accountant role is to assist in the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements. General accounting tasks including but not limited to recording journal entries, reconciling general ledger accounts, and assisting the Accounting Manager in reviewing the work of Staff Accountants. This function is highly important to the organization because it allows for review of company and/or market performance and facilitates decision-making.

In this role you will
- Record and reconcile various income and receivable accounts.
- Assists Accounting Manager in review of journal entries prepared by Staff Accountant(s).
- Prepares balance sheet reconciliations and research variances.
- Assists Accounting Manager in review of financial reports.
- Obtains and organizes documentation requested in connection with various audits.
- Review Trial Balance for accuracy and provide explanations or clarification on balance fluctuations.
- Performs other ad hoc analysis as needed.

Required Education and Experience
- 4-year degree in accounting.
- Five to seven years of general accounting experience.
- Advanced Excel skills
Preferred Education and Experience
- Supervisor experience is a plus
- CPA is a plus
- Experience in retail company
Classification, Compensation & Benefits
The classification is Exempt.
