Who we are:

Coastal Mechanics is a manufacturer of high-precision Aviation and Military custom components. We are currently seeking a highly organized USG Contracts Manager who is willing and ready to be a hard-working team player in a rapidly growing company.

The person we are looking for:

A candidate with experience in United States Government (USG) contract management. A candidate with direct experience in the Aviation/Military industry or extensive personal experience and familiarity with Aviation/Military is required to be successful on day one. This role requires a candidate that works independent, is confident in making self-directed decisions, is highly organized and is an excellent communicator.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Receive Requests for Information (RFIs) / Requests for Proposal (RFPs) / Requests for Quotation (RFQs) with external customers.
  • Create Estimate Requests (ERs) and Statements of Work (SOWs) for external customers.
  • Create bid proposals, manage and prepare internal documentation for approvals as required, and obtain management approval for submission to the customer.
  • Interface with other members of Coastal team for respective functions in order to execute bids and delivery orders for USG programs.
  • Develop negotiation strategy and leads negotiations of proposal with commercial and / or government customers ensuring customer needs are satisfied while meeting Coastal business and financial objectives.
  • Performs contract administration from contract award to contract closeout, which may include : internal notification of contract award and coordination of requirements to functional departments to advise of obligations during performance, contract notifications to customer, identification and resolution of changes by application of knowledge of contract clauses and policies and procedures, monitor funding and expenditures, facilitation of invoicing, documentation of delivery / completion to the customer, and contract closeout.
  • Assess, maintain, and utilize Coastal information management systems for reports / metrics, correspondence, files, presentations, analyses, and contract administration.
  • Manage special assignments and projects within Contracts.
  • Demonstrate exceptional customer relationship management skills.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Familiarity with ITAR, FAR / DFARS and USG acquisition process.
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and, at times, stressful environment
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software

Education and Experience:

At least 5 or more years combined experience in USG Contracts, Finance, Pricing and Procurement.

Requirements:

This position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and / or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder')
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
