HIRING PAINTER/PLASTERER

Walnut Capital Management is looking for full-time, year-round, long-term Painters for our residential properties. The shift is Monday-Friday 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. (With overtime available during the busier seasons).

Qualifications:

  • High-school or equivalent (preferred)
  • Drivers license (required)
  • 1-3 years of painting experience (residential and/or commercial) preferred, not required
  • ***We also highly encourage those willing to learn, to apply.
  • 1-3 years of plaster/drywall experience preferred, not required

Pay: Starting $16-$25 depending on experience

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

*** Training periods will vary based on experience of applicant. The duties and responsibilities listed below are preferred to be known prior to employment, but if new to the trade, can be taught throughout an extended training period.

  • Ability to apply paint with brush, roller, spray can, sprayer, or other applicable paint applicators.
  • Fill nail holes, patch cracks, fill open seams/joints, etc. with caulking, putty, plaster, or other filler.
  • Background with latex and oil-based paints and primers.
  • Background in wood-staining.
  • Drywall removal and replacement.
  • Experience with multiple variations of wall damage is preferred.
  • Experience with hand tools such as flat-head/phillips-head screw drivers, hammers etc.
  • Experience with power tools such as multi-tools, circular saws, power drills, nail guns, etc.

Additional Experience

*** Beneficial to the job, but not required

  • Ability to set up ladders and staging, to reach heights of 8ft and over.
  • Experience with faux finishes.
  • Stripping and re-finishing furniture, doors, etc.
  • Carpentry skills

Physical Demands, Inter-Personal Skills, and Daily Work Environment

  • This is a physically demanding position. Most of the day will be spent on your feet.
  • Frequently required to lift equipment/materials over 25lbs.
  • Organizational skills. Employee will need the ability to schedule ahead with tenants and meet company deadlines.
  • Must be self-motivated and have the ability to problem solve.
  • Ability to work in a team-environment.
  • Ability to effectively use their phone. Throughout the day, you will receive company emails, work orders, texts, phone calls, etc. These need to be efficiently managed.
