  • Fills cracks and holes with appropriate materials, such as plaster.
  • Mixes paints and other materials to achieve the desired color and texture.
  • Applies paint to surfaces using various tools, ensuring a smooth and even finish.
  • Applies stains, varnishes, and other finishes as required.
  • Takes and adheres to all health and safety precautions, including the use of personal protective equipment.
  • Smooths or preps surfaces using sandpaper, wire brushes, or steel wool.
  • Cleans and maintains all equipment necessary for painting tasks.
  • Removes old paint from surfaces using paint removers, scrapers, and wire brushes.
  • Paints surfaces using brushes and paint rollers as necessary.
  • Installs and repairs wall coverings.
  • Prepares drywall wall board systems with a smooth finish for painting.
  • Selects pre-mixed paints or prepares paint to match specified colors by blending and mixing required portions of pigment, oil, and thinning and drying substances.
  • Fills joints, nails, and screw holes, and cracks with caulking, putty, plaster, or other fillers.
  • Fills nail holes, patches cracks, fills open seams/joints, etc. with caulking, putty, plaster, or other fillers.
  • Prepares drywall for painting.

Required Experience:

  • At least 4 years of experience in commercial and residential painting.
  • Background in latex and oil-based paints and primers.
  • Background in wood-staining.
  • Experience with drywall and removal of damaged drywall.
  • Experience with hand tools, such as flat-head/phillips-head screwdrivers, hammers, etc.
  • Experience with power tools, such as multi-tools, circular saws, power drills, nail guns, etc.
