Job Overview: We are looking for a Sheet Metal Technician. In this role, you will be responsible for removing cut parts from the laser cutter and performing secondary operations such as grinding, deburring, countersinking and tapping. Your attention to detail and commitment to quality will be crucial in maintaining our high standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Remove sheet metal parts from the laser cutter.
  • Perform deburring, grinding, countersinking and tapping.
  • Regularly lift and move parts weighing between 5-50lbs of various shapes and sizes.
  • Organize parts by job number, keep track of quantities.
  • Interpret internal shop drawings and understand a sequence of events.
  • Inspect parts to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area, adhering to safety standards.
  • Identify and report any issues with part quality or equipment performance.
  • Contribute ideas for process improvements and efficiency enhancements.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in a manufacturing or production environment, preferably in metal fabrication.
  • Knowledge of secondary operations like countersinking, tapping, and PEM insert installation.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical capability to handle materials and tools and to stand for extended periods.
  • Basic understanding of safety protocols in a manufacturing environment.
