Job Title:         Group Facilitator  

Reports To: Director of Clinical Services 

Positions Supervised:   None 

FLSA Status: Exempt 

Schedule: Monday Through Friday

JOB SUMMARY: Counsels residents/students regarding psychological or emotional problems and develops and implements therapeutic treatment plan. To manage a weekly and daily group working with youth, this position will develop youths' self-exploration and self-empowerment themes within a setting that provides social contact and support, enabling client members to improve their mental health and reach personal goals. This will be done by creating a safe, non-stigmatizing and welcoming environment for client members, a safe place where people feel able to express themselves.      

                                         

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, a staff person must be able to perform each of these essential duties satisfactorily. Provide a safe space for the expression of anxieties and exploration and sharing of experience. 

  Demonstrate appropriate communication and leadership skills.  

Promote a consensus-building approach where every youth has a say in the group's structure.  

 Maintain confidentiality and respect the individual needs of the client members.  

 Develop and support the activities of the Group. 

  Maintain Health and Safety of the group ensuring policies and procedures are adhered to.  

 Support the youth to develop their own mutual support network outside of the group if they wish to do so.  

 Encourage members to get involved in new hobbies and activities to improve their mental health 

 Monitor the suitability of the premises for the group's purpose. Seek alternative arrangements should the premises become unsuitable.  

 Promote the rights, responsibilities and recovery of youth. 

 Gain knowledge of other services provided by other organizations and agencies, to offer information to ensure all youths make the best possible choice. 

  Provide 1-1 support to members as necessary – support with understanding letters, CV writing and personal issues  

 First Aid skills. – Basic First aid at work; Mental Health Awareness Training can be given. 

  • Facilitate groups across age groups and cohorts, including Integrative curriculum, Support Staffing and Wellness Hour as needed  

  • Foster client engagement and group cohesion throughout the session, encouraging client participation and fostering camera-on culture 

  • Following all operational policies and procedures as indicated by Perimeter best practices  

  • Participate in collaborative Treatment Team and Group Supervision  

  • Work collaboratively and respectfully across the care team including with Primary Therapists 

  • Communicate clearly, professionally, and promptly with all clients, staff, families, agencies, and referents 

  • Monitor your treatment documentation to ensure all your notes are completed within required 24-hour timeframe and meet agency and professional standards per DHCS and The Joint Commission standards 

  • Maintain and model professional ethics, including appropriate boundaries and confidentiality 

  • Other duties as assigned 

Qualified Licensed Mental Health Therapist’s candidates should have the following:

  • Education: Master's degree (MA/MS) in psychology, counseling, social work or related field required.
  • Experience: At least one (1) year of related experience in inpatient setting with psychiatric experience preferred.
  • Licensure: Licensed Tennessee LAC, LCSW, LPC or LMFT preferred. Able to consider someone who has a reciprocity license from another state.
  • Schedule: Weekend availability
