Job Summary: The Industrial Purchasing Manager is responsible for overseeing the procurement of materials, equipment, and services necessary for the company's operations. This role involves developing purchasing strategies, managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of high-quality industrial goods and services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Procurement Strategy: Develop and implement purchasing strategies to ensure cost-effective and timely procurement of materials and services.
  • Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with suppliers and vendors. Conduct regular assessments to ensure supplier performance meets company standards.
  • Contract Negotiation: Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to achieve optimal terms and conditions for the company.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure adequate supply while minimizing excess stock and associated costs.
  • Cost Control: Continuously seek opportunities to reduce costs and improve efficiency without compromising quality.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct market research and analysis to stay informed about industry trends, pricing, and supply chain developments.
  • Compliance: Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of purchasing professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports on procurement activities, cost savings, supplier performance, and other relevant metrics to senior management.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant certification (e.g., CPSM, CIPS) is a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial purchasing or supply chain management, preferably in the [specific industry, e.g., manufacturing, construction, etc.].
  • Skills:
    • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
