  • Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and motivated Tree Climber/Groundsman to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in tree climbing, using chainsaws, and performing various tree care tasks. This position involves both climbing trees and working on the ground to support climbers and manage debris.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Tree Climbing:
    • Safely climb trees using ropes, harnesses, and other equipment.
    • Perform tree pruning, trimming, and removal tasks at various heights.
    • Ensure all climbing activities comply with safety standards and regulations.
  • Ground Operations:
    • Operate chainsaws, chippers, and other equipment to process and dispose of tree debris.
    • Clear and maintain work areas to ensure a safe and efficient job site.
  • Equipment Maintenance:
    • Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on tools and equipment.
    • Inspect and ensure all climbing gear and safety equipment are in good working condition.
  • Safety Compliance:
    • Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Customer Service:
    • Interact with clients in a professional and courteous manner.
    • Address client concerns and answer questions about tree care services.

Qualifications:

  • Valid driver’s license; (CDL preferred but not required).
  • Proven experience as a tree climber.
  • Proficiency in using chainsaws, ropes, harnesses, and other tree care equipment.
  • Knowledge of tree species, growth patterns, and proper pruning techniques.
  • Strong understanding of safety protocols and best practices in tree care.
  • Physical fitness and ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Working Conditions:

  • Outdoor work environment, exposed to varying weather conditions.
  • Physically demanding role requiring lifting, climbing, and operating heavy equipment.
