**Job Summary:*

We are seeking a skilled Machinist/Toolmaker to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, fabricating, and repairing precision tools and fixtures using a variety of manual and CNC equipment and techniques. Experience with threading molybdenum (moly) with a manual lathe is required.

**Responsibilities:**

-Responsible for producing our in-house manufactured tooling

-Machine, turn, and mill refractory metals, mainly molybdenum (moly), in our toolroom

-Machine, turn, and mill steel in our toolroomWork with CNC lathe, drill press, mill

-Perform a variety of machine setups and operations

-Assist in the design of tooling and procedures to properly and efficiently manufacture the company's products

-Document machine setup data and tooling design specifications, maintain all related records and files, and update as needed

-Perform machine maintenance and repairs as required using hand tools if necessary

Read and interpret specifications and reference manuals to perform repairs and machine/design tooling.

-Repair and replace tooling as required and production machinery as required

-Work to develop new tooling designs and manufacturing procedures to expand the company’s product line

-Directly manufacture products as needed

-Perform special projects as directed

- Utilize CAD software such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks to design tools

- Use precision measuring instruments to ensure accuracy in tool fabrication

- Interpret engineering drawings with GD&T specifications

- Program CAM software for tool production

- Fabricate tools and fixtures according to specifications

- Maintain and repair existing tools as needed

**Qualifications:**

-High school degree or technical school degree and 10+ years of machinist experience are required

-Experience with Manual/Conventional and CNC Lathe is required

-Experience with Manual Mill and Surface Grinder is required

-Experience machining molybdenum (moly) is required knowledge of machine controls and the ability/understanding to make adjustments to regulate precision tolerances of .001 to .0001 is critical

- Proficiency in CAD software like AutoCAD and SolidWorks

- Experience with lathe operation and machining techniques

- Familiarity with precision measuring instruments

- Knowledge of GD&T principles for interpreting engineering drawings

- Ability to program CAM software for tool production

- Strong mechanical knowledge of tool fabrication

- Previous experience in tool making or related field
