As a staff accountant, you will gain experience preparing all types of tax returns, performing tax planning, preparing financial statements and conducting tax research. You will work together with and have constant guidance from certified public accountants with more than 20 years of experience.

Main Responsibilities of the Position:

  • Prepare tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations and trusts
  • Set up trial balances and depreciation schedules for businesses and work out necessary tax adjustments
  • Communicate with clients regarding return preparation, planning and multifaceted tax issues
  • Evaluate opportunities to lessen tax burden's through tax planning
  • Understand and evaluate changes in tax law and how our clients are affected
  • Perform tax research of complex tax issues
  • Correspond and communicate with federal, state, and local agencies regarding tax notices and requests
  • Facilitate IRS and State tax audits

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • CPA or CPA Candidate
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with Tax and Research Software
