Education and Experience:
Certified Behavioral Health Case Manager Supervisor (CBHCMS) through Florida Certification Board:
- If you have a case management related** Master’s degree from an accredited university or college, the following is required:
- 2 years’ work experience providing related case management services to either the adult or child population
- Complete the Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) approved targeted case management training within 3 months of hire.
**Related fields include Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice, Nursing, Rehabilitation, Special Education, Health Education, or a Human Services field in which major coursework includes the study of human behavior and development
- 50 hours of on-the-job supervision of performance of core competencies as outlined in the AHCA approved training
- If you have a non-related Master’s or any Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college, the following is required:
- 4 years of related case management experience to either the adult or child population
- complete the AHCA approved targeted case management training within 3 months of hire
- 50 hours of on-the-job supervision of performance of core competencies as outlined in the AHCA approved training
Additional requirements:
Complete the application for supervisor certification through the Florida Certification Board within 6 months of hire.
Demonstrated leadership experience required.
Must be 21 years of age.
Negative Drug Screening prior to hire and throughout employment.
Clear Criminal Background Check throughout employment with Suncoast Center and local checks prior to hire and annually along with DCF Level II prior to hire and as required by DCF, and Must have valid Florida Driver’s License Motor Vehicle checks prior to hire and annually with acceptable driving record maintained throughout employment along with reliable vehicle, valid registration, and valid vehicle insurance. (must be in compliance with Florida Laws and Administrative Codes with fingerprinting and determined to be of good moral character).
Working Conditions: Provide services both in-agency and in the community as required. Schedule may be irregular as emergencies arise.
Computer Literate
Job Duties:
- Oversees and directs the development of policies and procedures for assigned programs to ensure quality care and compliance with funder/payer and accreditation body. Supervises, is accessible to and provides direction to staff. Provides leadership and guidance to staff through appropriate utilization and implementation of the policies and procedures. Ensures programs are operating according to funding, licensing and accreditation guidelines. Monitors documentation compliance with internal procedures, contract requirements, payer requirements, accrediting standards, and Florida Statutes and Administrative Rules.
- Develops, constantly improves, implements, and monitors systems to ensure the smooth operation of programs managed, ultimately resulting in excellent customer service, the timely and accurate completion of clinical documentation, outcome data, and service event entry.
- Lead day to day operations of all aspects of the Outpatient Care Coordination department, including coverage for treatment plan completion for clients in Adult Integrative Services and Family Integrated Services.
- Supervises Peer Recovery Specialists team.
- Ensures compliance with all standards for Medicaid Targeted Case Management and peer recovery services.
- Ensures compliance with Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic standards for care coordination, healthcare integration, peer recovery support, and military and veteran support for all clients served in the agency.
- Provides outreach and presentations internally and in the community for programs supervised.
- Acts as liaison to Medical staff and other the departments within Suncoast Center.
- Trains staff to assist medical providers in the completion of forms.
- Remain current in the general knowledge of psychotropic medication, side effects, and DSM-V diagnoses, and recognize when medical services are appropriate.
- Respond to customer (internal & external) complaints and concerns.
- Participate in or lead Suncoast Center committees, group supervision and meetings as needed.
- Follows Florida Statutes and Florida Administrative Codes, Case Management Regional Operating Policy and Florida Medicaid Manual for case management services.
- Maintains active certification as a Certified Behavioral Health Case Manager Supervisor through the Florida Certification Board.
- Use appropriate crisis intervention skills to anticipate and prevent crises where possible.
- Provide services in a way that utilizes the principles of recovery, and treat every client as a partner in a process to better their lives.
- Complete treatment plans/reviews, progress notes and other documentation within agency guidelines.
- Provide management oversight during hours of operation including evenings and on call as needed.
- Monitor revenue and expense reports of programs, and institutes corrective action to ensure compliance with budgetary goals.
- Monitor the productivity of the programs and individual staff on an ongoing basis. Makes recommendations and implements processes to improve productivity as needed. Regularly utilizes reports in the EMR to assess program and staff effectiveness.
