Financial Controller-Real Estate

Immediate need for a Financial Controller to lead and develop a team supporting the day to day operations of finance and business planning. This position will report directly to the CEO.
This is an exciting opportunity for a finance and operations leader to maximize and strengthen the internal capacity of a well-respected, high-impact organization.
Job Duties:
· Oversee accounting and financial operations including execution of financial strategies and processes including annual operating budget, and annual audits.
· Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal business partners and all banking partners.
· Ensure that the Company has strong internal controls relating to operating, escrow banking and related treasury management procedures.
· Coordinate financial functions, including banking, general accounting, profit, and loss (P&L’s), balance sheets and preparation of monthly financial reports and forecasting.
· Responsible for managing a team and overseeing work to ensure proper escrow accounting processes are executed.
· Provides leadership and direction through managers, supervisors and/or individual contributors.
· Accountable for the performance and results of a function/sub-function, division/region
· Executes business plans and contributes to the development of business strategy.
· Applies broad industry knowledge and business acumen to drive financial performance.
· Directs the resolution of highly complex or unusual business problems applying advanced critical thinking.
· Contribute to the development of overall vision and of strategies for the Company which provide clear direction for future development.
Qualifications:
· A minimum of five years Real Estate background. Prefer experience with escrow.
· Business Finance degree preferred but not required. CPA a plus.
· Management experience supervising staff, managing budgets, and effectively handling multiple priorities and projects.
· Demonstrates a business and personal philosophy consistent with company’s core values and mission statement.
· Demonstrates ability tasks independently, keep organized in a fast-paced environment, manage simultaneous tasks, and adjust strategy to changing demands.
· Strong understanding of accounting and office operations and procedures, including mathematics, analysis skills, payroll, bookkeeping, contract management, and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and laws.
· Requires sophisticated knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, discounts, and commissions.
· Experience working and operating with banking industry/functions/policies, confidential financial information and fraud prevention
· Knowledge of analysis and financial software, including QuickBooks.
