This person must have experience with acquired properties.Duties include maintain and control accounting system, accounting closing process, journal entries, reconciliation, analysis of GL accounts, variance analysis, audit, budget, cash management, bank relationship, industry requirements, and financial reports.Responsibilities:Build a best practices framework for multifamily property accounting.Design, implement and support appropriate accounting policies and procedures consistent with industry best practices to support the organization's financial health and continued growth.Monitor cash management for properties.Serve as point of contact for external accounts to coordinate audits and tax returns.Communicate with property personnel, external vendors, and other stakeholders for all finance and accounting questions and requests.Supervisory Responsibility:Responsible for a full range of supervisory responsibilities including daily work direction, authority to hire, discipline, and terminate employees, make pay adjustments, communicate performance appraisals, approve absences, and make employee job assignment changes for the accounting department.Specific Job Skills:Perform multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic and complex environment.Build internal and external business relationships.Independent self-starter with the ability to resolve complicated accounting issues timely and accurately.Strong oral and written communication skills.Solid knowledge of internal control functions and documentation.Strong analytical and financial reporting skills.Strong working knowledge of Yardi preferredExemplary organizational and interpersonal skills with a strong customer service orientation.Work effectively with all levels of employees while inspiring respect and credibility.Education/Experience:Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration required.7-10+ years' experience in accounting, finance, or related function including supervisory experience.Multifamily Property Accounting experience is required.National real estate and property management company seeks a Real Estate Controller for new acquisition of multifamily properties.
