SUMMARY:

The AAA Fire Protection Inc. Sprinkler Service Division Technician role services and inspects, tests, maintains, repairs, replaces, water-based sprinkler systems and apparatus for current and new customers in accordance with current manufacturers' recommendations, NFPA and DOT standards and regulations, and current jurisdictional code. Operation of a company vehicle and independent scheduling and invoicing of appointments is required using company and jurisdictional provided software platforms. Responsible for maintaining a professional, productive and safe work environment.

DUTIES:

  • Carry out scheduled & unscheduled sprinkler service work and specialty testing dispatched by the Service Coordinator or at the direction of the Sprinkler Service Division Superintendent to manufactures recommendations and jurisdictional requirement and to the level of the licenses they hold.
  • Act as service and technical support to other division technicians.
  • Provide clear education and guidance about local fire code requirements, to customers regarding services, systems and apparatus, for which you are licensed, in accordance with Superintendents expectations.
  • Set and meet clear expectations with customers.
  • Perform site surveys to educate customers as to timing, delivery, and operational impact around the delivery of a proposed solution.
  • Procure, carry, and secure the product and parts needed for the job prior to the scheduled date/time of installation.
  • Monitor and maintain proper working order of company tools and equipment.
  • Understand other AAA service capabilities, warranties, product usages and challenges, to further educate and serve external customers.
  • Responsible for recording time in the company provided time and attendance software.
  • Responsible for maintaining all job and customer related notes, deficiencies, invoices, and compliance test reports in company provided software (or as required compliance test reports through third party jurisdictional platforms) using AAA furnished hardware.
  • Monitor and report issues with operation of company vehicle immediately.
  • Responsible for notifying direct supervisor of any equipment break down or malfunction or any unsafe working conditions.
  • Responsible for complying and enforcing safety requirements while on company property and at customers site.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned and as necessary depending on the situation and location.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills, plus the ability to multi-task and work in a fast- paced team environment
  • Exhibits attention to detail with high standards for accuracy and follow through.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Hold and maintains applicable distributor manufacture and jurisdictional certifications including but not limited to AS-3, WSP Journeyman License and WA-ITT.
  • Ability to work overtime and or outside standard business hours and or weekends as needed to accommodate customer needs.
  • Ability to regularly lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Hold and maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets Company requirements.
