Our Software technology client, with operations in the US and Canada, providing services using software online (SaaS) seeks a Senior Revenue Accountant to support timely and accurate expense recording, payments, cash management, annual financial audit support and weekly reporting of payment requirements. With an annual compensation range of $90k to $105K, the position offers the opportunity to progress to senior revenue accountant followed by director of revenue accounting with candidates increase in skills, knowledge, and experience together with company growth.

What You'll Do

  • Assist with monthly close efforts related to revenue accounting
  • Evaluate contracts to identify areas of complexity and ensure compliance with GAAP
  • Oversee chargebacks, declines, expirations, and revenue reconciliation
  • Manage online cash receipt process and provide daily reporting
  • Perform technical accounting research, when necessary, to ensure proper compliance with GAAP and stay updated on accounting standards and regulations related to revenue recognition
  • Work collaboratively with Controller and CFO to assist in the forecasting process and analysis of results
  • Identify and implement process improvements throughout the revenue cycle with a focus on revenue automation
  • Assist Controller in the year-end audit process by actively working with external auditors to provide relevant support for revenue related items
  • Assist Controller in the assessment, design and testing of key controls around the revenue process
  • Senior Revenue Accountant will manage and oversee revenue accounting processes, ensuring compliance with GAAP and company policies
  • Prepare and review revenue-related journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and implement revenue recognition policies for new and existing products and services
  • Analyze revenue and related accounts to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement
  • Participate in the budgeting and forecasting processes

Your Qualifications

  • 3+ years’ experience either in environment with annual financial audits
  • 1+ year experience with SaaS revenue recognition ASC 606
  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance with minor in Accounting
  • CPA or CPA candidate strongly preferred
  • Very strong technical accountant, proficient in US GAAP, especially as it pertains to revenue recognition
  • Experience with SaaS-based accounting and business applications including Zuora is a major plus
  • Highly analytical with ability to dig into large amounts of data and summarize key findings and propose potential recommendations
  • Motivated, driven employee with 2 or more years of experience working remotely
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Exhibit excellent communication skills
  • Hands-on accounts receivable and/or revenue operations accounting experience.
  • Excellent command with Excel and manipulating large data sets is a must.
  • Experience with business intelligence software and ERP systems (Sage Intact is a +)
  • Strong quantitative analysis skillset, with the ability to read, analyze, interpret, and explain complex financial data.
