Job Description:


We are looking for a meticulous and versatile Construction and Property Management Accountant to join our client’s team. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, computer savvy, proficient in Excel, Adobe, and QuickBooks, and have a strong background in accounting, inventory, material tracking, and property management; preferably within the construction and property management industries.


Key Responsibilities:


• Utilize Excel, Adobe, and QuickBooks for various accounting and financial tasks.
• Manage inventory, materials, and cost tracking, including Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).
• Oversee financial aspects of construction and property management projects.
• Work closely with contractors to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance.
• Handle accounting duties for multiple companies within the property management and construction sectors.
• Track rent payments and follow up on late payments to ensure timely collection.
• Provide forecasting and budgeting insights to support financial planning.
• Close out jobs and prepare profit and loss statements.
• Manage invoicing processes and ensure timely and accurate billing.
• Process payroll for construction crews and other staff members.
• Coordinate and consolidate accounting functions across multiple companies.


Qualifications:


• 2+ years’ experience in accounting, payroll, and property management. 
• Strong proficiency in Excel, Adobe, and QuickBooks.
• Ability to manage multiple accounting tasks across different companies.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with various stakeholders.
• Experience managing finances on projects.
• An in depth understanding of the budget, contracts, change orders, billing process, general conditions, supporting documentation requirements, and all other aspects.


Preferred Qualifications:


• Experience with financial forecasting and budgeting.
• Construction and property management experience.
• Knowledge of construction project management.
• Previous experience in a multi-company accounting environment.
• Understanding of general contractor billing process in relation to construction insurance, salaries, burden rates.
