Job Title: Dishroom Lead

We’re seeking a skilled and motivated Dishroom Lead to oversee our fast-paced dishroom operations, ensuring that all dishware and kitchen equipment are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness.

Job Summary: The Dishroom Lead is responsible for supervising and coordinating the dishroom team, managing daily dishwashing tasks, and ensuring a clean and organized dishroom area. This role requires strong leadership skills and the ability to thrive in a high-pressure hospital environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of dishroom staff, including assigning tasks and ensuring efficient workflow.
• Operate dishwashing machines and ensure all dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dishroom, including floors, countertops, and storage areas.
• Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and detergents, placing orders as needed and ensuring proper storage.
• Train new dishroom staff on procedures and safety protocols.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper handling and disposal of waste and recyclables.
• Address and resolve any issues or concerns related to dishroom operations in a timely manner.
• Report maintenance or repair needs for dishwashing equipment to the appropriate department.
• Collaborate with kitchen and food service staff to ensure a steady supply of clean dishware and utensils.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a dishroom or kitchen setting is required; supervisory experience is a plus.
• Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure hospital environment.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative attitude.
• Capability to handle physical tasks, including lifting and carrying heavy items and standing for extended periods.
• Familiarity with health and safety regulations related to food service and dishwashing.
