Location: Dallas, Texas – ABOG National Center; Hybrid Work environment with expectation for 60% in office. Meeting Travel Required (up to 10%) as needed.
FLSA Status: Exempt
Summary: The Content Management Specialist is responsible for assisting the Content Management Lead in coordinating logistics within and across the development team to ensure smooth workflows. The Content Management Specialist is also responsible for copyrighting all content and ensuring all assessment items and cases have appropriate images, when needed. In addition, the Content Management Specialist will support the content editorial team with editing.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage content and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) within the item bank, including assignments for SMEs, specifically for the Certifying Examinations and Continuing Certification assessments.
- Coordinate vendor relations (item bank and journal), as needed.
- Organize and maintain all files/records related to assessment development, including images and video clips.
- Review and edit content for grammar, punctuation, spelling, and format, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and consistency according to ABOG and AMA style guidelines and psychometric standards.
- Innovate and improve efficiencies in the content development process and workflow, while performing quality control checks as needed.
- Assist in developing, updating, and maintaining guides and procedures specific to item writing and editing for initial and continuing certification.
- Prepare content for assessment meetings, as needed.
- Assist in transferring content to DMS.
- Work with test delivery platforms to publish assessments.
- Copyright content on all assessments.
- Organize and edit images for all assessments.
- Assist Chief of Assessments, Manager of Assessment Development, and other assessment department members with office operations as requested.
- Participate in assessment development meetings, including participating in writing, editing, and review sessions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Demonstrable Proficiency: Candidates may be required to demonstrate proficiency in essential skills during the interview process.
- Bachelors in Publishing, English, Journalism, Communications, or other related field preferred.
- Minimum of two years’ experience as an editor.
- Knowledge of and familiarity with the AMA Style Manual.
- Positive attitude and possess the perseverance and flexibility to get through difficult situations with a sense of humor.
- Exceptional interpersonal, time management, organizational, and communication (oral and written) skills.
- Ability to project a professional demeanor.
- Ability to compose professional, well-constructed, effective written communications.
- Detail oriented.
- Superior writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Ability to be flexible as office needs change.
- Must be available for an occasional conference call outside of normal business hours.
- Must be familiar with copyright privileges.
- Must have experience using the Internet, web-based programs, online meeting software, and computer software applications of MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, MS Office, MS Teams, and Zoom.
