Job Summary:

The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for leadership of Planning, Procurement, and Strategic Programs associated within Supply Chain infrastructure. The manager will be responsible for ensuring accountability, transparency, and effective communication cross- functionally, within his/her team and external facing organizations while ensuring information is timely, clear, and accurate.

This role interacts with all levels of the organization in a collaborative and positive way with colleagues to facilitate department and organizational initiatives for cultural cohesion aligned to the DiscGenics Values.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Own supply chain planning and value stream process including procurement of raw materials, packaging components, labeling, purchasing, finished goods, and operation supplies.
  • Design, implement, and maintain supply chain program (policies, SOPs, etc.) in compliance with international regulations and guidelines (i.e. US FDA, Japanese PMDA, etc.).
  • Manage the materials function to meet customer service criteria, financial guidelines and global operations goals and objectives.
  • Manage the development of production schedules and inventory requirements to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials timed to meet production and customer requirements to maximize on-time delivery of products.
  • Make decisions on plant level supply chain planning policies Make-to-Stock v. Make-to- Order; Target Days of Supply (DOS) and/or Safety Stock Strategies & Process Management/Ownership.
  • Monitor Open Order Report for key materials.
  • Establish world class program to manage material variance reports
  • Advise leadership team of the status of work in progress, material availability and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials and services are provided as needed. Additionally, communicate business needs to the appropriate functional groups, external parties and ensure operational accountability in these steps.
  • Represent the manufacturing site in corporate driven strategic initiatives focused on cost reductions and efficiency improvement. Play a pivotal role in defining a strategic plan for the supply chain team.
  • Lead the implementation of the Supply Chain related modules of an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system to meet the unique requirements of a regulated biopharmaceutical company.
  • Supervise and manage Supply Chain/Warehouse staff.
  • Work on project team to develop ultra-low temperature cold chain logistics program for delivery of cell therapy product to treatment sites.
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

  • Strong leadership qualities including interpersonal, communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in leading cross functional teams in the completion of large projects
  • Attention to detail and experience to check behind the scenes to ensure surprises are minimized
  • Skilled in problem identification and solving, including ability to negotiate and influence.
  • Ability to effectively handle conflict through proactive action and direct and timely communication
  • Familiarity with Supply Chain Segmentation Analysis and impacts/tradeoffs with Volume, Variety and Volatility.
  • Strong understanding of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Systems (Netsuite preferred)
  • Competence with Windows and Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Adheres to and leads with the Company Values of Integrity, Innovation, Accuracy, Teamwork and Stewardship.
  • Regular and predictable attendance.
  • Ability to report to work responsive, free from sedatives, and in a non-sedative state.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, Logistics or another related field.
  • At least 5 years' logistics and operations work experience is required, with at least 3 years in a supervisory/management capacity.
  • APICS Certification in Production and Inventory Management, Six Sigma and/or Lean Expert preferred.

Working Conditions:

Position requires qualified individuals to see, hear and speak (verbally and audibly). Required to ascend and descend stairs; sit, stand, lift, bend, stoop, crawl and kneel. The employee must also use hands to finger, handle or feel. Occasionally reaching with hands and arms, climbing or balancing are required. May be asked to drive or travel by car, air, or other transportation for business purposes.

Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

Ability to bend, reach, stoop, lift and stand for entire shift.

Comfort working with heights up to 20-30 feet regularly.

Must be able to function effectively with noise in a warehouse environment. Natural and regular stressors occur on the job.
