The Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for all purchasing activities within the company, including the procurement of materials, vendor negotiations, and development of purchasing processes. This role will require close coordination with the sales and production departments and will involve developing new systems for purchasing and inventory management.


Role and Responsibilities:


1. Purchasing and Procurement:

Manage all procurement activities, including raw materials, components, and capital equipment.

Locate, compare, and negotiate with vendors to ensure quality materials are purchased at the lowest possible cost from reliable sources.

Ensure supplies and materials ordered meet established quality standards. o Maintain current cost data for all purchased items.

Develop secondary and back-up vendor sources.

Track and resolve purchasing and inventory problems or discrepancies.


Process Development:

Develop and implement efficient purchasing systems, including designing forms and reports.

Assist Senior Management in developing short and long-term goals and objectives for the Purchasing Department.

  • Participate in developing purchasing policies and procedures to ensure they support company-wide strategic goals.
  • Conduct periodic reviews of existing policies to ensure effectiveness and compliance with evolving regulations, legal requirements, and industry trends.

Participate in budget development.


Interdepartmental Coordination:

Coordinate with the sales department for quoting materials.

  • Work with the production department for part expediting and to ensure production needs are met.
  • Inform managers of new sources of supplies, including those with new prices and options.

Ensure effective communication and coordination with other departments, area personnel, and management.

Keep production advised of key changes in schedule materials due and coordinate functions with other areas to support production and sales personnel.


Inventory Management:

Determine and maintain appropriate inventory levels.

Maintain control of material allocation, usage, and quantities.

Monitor and control inventory levels to ensure smooth and uninterrupted operations.

Vendor Management and Prioritization:

Serve as a liaison between the company and its vendors.

Maintain long-term productive relationships with suppliers and ensure the company’s professional reputation is maintained. o Implement and maintain a vendor performance tracking and rating system.

Manage vendor relationships and prioritize part releases.

Utilize advanced Excel skills for managing and analyzing purchasing data.

Ensure required reports and documents are completed accurately and timely.


Required Qualifications:

High school graduate or equivalent.

Experience in purchasing management.

Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.

Above average competency in Excel.


Preferred Qualifications:

Higher education training in supply chain management.

Familiarity with Made2Mange ERP system.


  • Work Schedule: Monday to Thursday 8am-6pm
