At Fives, we all have a part to play in achieving our common mission. Your role will be:

  • Removes burrs, sharp edges, rust, or scale from the workpiece, using file, hand grinder, or wire brush
  • Assists machine operators in setting up machines and stack, mark, pack, and transport finished workpieces
  • Measures workpiece dimensions using a rule, template, or other measuring instruments to determine the accuracy of machine operation
  • Performs minor machine maintenance, such as oiling machines, dies, or workpieces
  • May rivet and spot-weld workpieces
  • May tend machines that fabricate and assemble sheet metal products
  • Plate and structural layout using squares, center heads, tape measure, and other measuring devices
  • Operate hand torch, hand plasma, and track burner
  • Operate an overhead crane and jib hoist

  • 2+ years of related experience and training or an equivalent combination of education andexperience
  • Experience reading and interpreting documents such as fabrication drawings, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Previous experience in heavy manufacturing
