Description
Working in Truss Manufacturing Plant building floor and roof trusses.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Assembling pre-cut lumber components into trusses.
2. Material handling of lumber, steel plates, and other building materials.
3. Banding metal plates
4. Understands and observes all safety procedures and practices. Recommend changes to improve safety procedures.
5. Provides new employee training to new truss builders
6. Other duties may be assigned.
Competencies
· Knowledge of company products, production processes and product standards
· Skilled in use of all tools (hammers, nailers, drills, tape measures) and equipment (presses)used for building trusses
· Motivated self-starter and problem solver
· Good verbal skills and work ethic
· Ability to work both independently and as a team member
Minimum Requirements
· Must be at least 18 years of age.
· High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
· Must be dependable.
· 1 year experience performing and coordinating construction manufacturing activities, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Truss manufacturing experience not required but a plus.
Work Environment/Physical Activity
· Work is performed within a shop environment, subject to temperature variations, mechanical parts, increased noise levels and dust.
· Must be able to lift and carry up to 25-40 pounds frequently and on occasion up to 75 pounds.
· Job tasks involve climbing, lifting, pushing and kneeling.
