Key Responsibilities
  • Manage production lines to optimize efficiency and productivity.
  • Partner with lead managers to train and develop personnel involved in production.
  • Review production orders and schedules to plan department operations.
  • Establish priorities and sequences for manufacturing products.
  • Coordinate manufacturing activities to ensure production meets specifications.
  • Inspect machines and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Develop and revise standard operational practices.
  • Resolve worker grievances and implement safe operating practices.
  • Compile and store production data.
Supervision Responsibilities

This role includes supervising a team, interviewing, hiring, and developing/training team members; planning, assigning, directing and delegating work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining team members; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Requirements

A bachelor's degree from a 4-year college or university, or 4-5 years of directly related experience in the lumber or building materials industry with multiple assignments in all phases of the business is required. Knowledge/experience in building materials, procurement, inventory management, and supervision of people is required. Strong customer service experience and good organizational skills are also necessary.
