HBM Machinist

As a Horizontal Boring Machine machinist you will be responsible for producing high quality parts using a horizontal boring machine. You will interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine the operations required and set up machines accordingly.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Read blueprints and other technical drawings to determine machining operations.

• Set up and operate horizontal boring machine.

• Select appropriate cutting tools, inserts, and fittings for each job.

• Monitor the machining process to ensure that parts meet quality standards and specifications.

• Perform routine maintenance tasks on machines to ensure optimal performance and longevity.

• Document work performed including dimensions, tolerances, materials used, accurately and legibly.

• Follow safety procedures and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries at the workplace.

• Maintain work area in a clean and orderly manner.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

• Proven experience as a horizontal boring machine machinist. (Minimum of 2 years)

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.

• Ability to use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gages.

• General knowledge of safety and standard machining practices.
