Job Overview

Gulf Electroquip, a leading provider of electric motor and generator solutions, is seeking a skilled Machinist - Manual Fabricator to join our team. Our company specializes in new, remanufactured, and repaired AC and DC motors and generators for various industries, including oil & gas, power generation, and transportation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate manual machine shop equipment, including horizontal boring mills, vertical turning lathes, and milling machines, to produce high-precision machined parts.
  • Use precision measuring instruments to ensure tolerance requirements are met.
  • Maintain quality and safety standards in the machine shop.
  • Keep accurate records of jobs completed and participate in regular safety and training exercises.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and engineering plans to specify and identify materials.
  • Set up manual machines for production runs using vises and other material holding parts.
  • Load and unload parts into machines, and train other machinists to complete jobs on machines.
  • Ensure a clean and organized work area and verify that parts being machined meet tolerance requirements.
  • Oversee the safe operation of all machines and ensure they are used in a safe manner.
  • Coordinate with the Quality department to ensure new production parts meet quality standards.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency with high-precision measurement devices.
  • Able to read and interpret blueprints and engineering plans.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical computations.
