Johnson Service Group is seeking a Software Quality Engineer for a 12 month Contract Assignment.  

Engineer III, Software Quality
The Engineer III, Software Quality is an experienced professional who accurately measures product quality, processes, and continually help improve testing throughout the software development life cycle. This person applies their practical and theoretical knowledge from Computer Science and previous experience in Healthcare or a related industry.   Additionally, the person is expected to be able to architect, create, and run both manual and automated tests for different application layers and Hardware sub-systems and/or System levels.

Responsibilities

  • Work as part of a team to design, develop, execute, and maintain manual and automated test scripts
  • Contribute towards automation testing at appropriate levels (backend, API, UI, Performance, Scalability, and Security) based on project requirements
  • Establish and enforce the quality standards for application areas under control.
  • Operate within an Agile Development environment and apply the methodologies.
  • Engage developers and APOs in the test case review and/or execution process
  • Understands the drivers and requirements of the business and translates those into tests
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and write up reproducible quality defects.
  • Active participation in Scrum Team activities (including grooming, estimating, and pointing)
  • Adhere to clients test engineering processes and procedures
  • Support External Validation and escalation issues
  • Creates functional, non-functional, and integration testing environment or components and root cause analyses (replicate, debug) for moderate features with limited assistance
  • Works with design, development, and the Product Owner to identify high-risk test areas early in the development process.
  • Contribute to high-level test qualification and strategy documents
  • Mentor junior team members
  • Engage in defect triage meetings
  • Meets the definition of done and follows the quality practices in the team. Documents defects and failures in accordance with the quality standards
  • Troubleshoots complex problems with existing or newly-developed software by both product behavior and reading code
  • Communicate professionally with stakeholders


Required Knowledge and Skills

  • An experienced professional with a full understanding of software quality engineering methodologies and processes
  • Proficient with Agile testing methodologies and best practices


Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related engineering field
  • 5+ years' of full-stack Software Test Engineering experience
  • Experience with testing methodologies and strategies, including black box, grey box, and white box testing; feature, functional, continuous integration, continuous deployment, continuous testing, and regression testing.
  • Knowledge of working with Linux/ubuntu/kubernetes.


Preferred Qualifications

  • M.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or other engineering fields of study
  • 4+ years’ experience in other object-oriented languages like Java, C#, or Javascript
  • Ability to read and understand code written in programming languages like Java
  • Experience in Automated Testing Tools like Ranorex, Protractor, or Selenium
  • Proficient understanding of communication protocols like (Sockets, MSMQ, Kafka, HTTP, etc.)
  • Experience in GUI testing, web application testing, Performance testing, Memory leak testing, security testing, API testing, and business intelligence or data warehouse testing
  • Experience in functional, integration, white box, and black box testing
  • Experience in implementing CI/CD pipelines for automated tests at different layers of the application
  • Experience working in a cloud platform such as AWS or Microsoft Azure
  • Healthcare Industry Experience
