Position Summary: The Principal Consultant - Organizational Strategy will play a critical role in leading strategic consulting engagements, guiding clients through complex organizational challenges, and helping them achieve their business goals. Based in Chicago, IL, this role requires a seasoned professional with a deep understanding of organizational design, change management, and leadership development. The Principal Consultant will be responsible for developing and executing strategies that drive organizational effectiveness, improve performance, and position clients for long-term success.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Client Engagement:

    • Lead high-impact consulting engagements focused on organizational strategy, working closely with senior leadership teams to understand their needs and objectives.
    • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, providing strategic insights and recommendations that drive organizational transformation.
    • Facilitate workshops, strategy sessions, and executive meetings to align stakeholders and develop actionable plans.
  2. Strategic Planning:

    • Develop and implement comprehensive organizational strategies that align with clients’ business goals and market conditions.
    • Conduct in-depth analysis of clients’ organizational structures, processes, and culture to identify areas for improvement and innovation.
    • Design and execute change management initiatives to support strategic transformations.
  3. Leadership Development:

    • Provide coaching and guidance to client leadership teams to enhance their effectiveness and drive organizational success.
    • Develop customized leadership development programs that align with clients’ strategic goals and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  4. Project Management:

    • Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of consulting projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
    • Manage project teams, allocate resources, and ensure the highest quality of deliverables.
    • Track project progress, measure outcomes, and provide regular updates to clients and internal stakeholders.
  5. Business Development:

    • Identify and pursue new business opportunities with existing and potential clients in the Chicago area and beyond.
    • Develop proposals, lead client presentations, and negotiate contracts to secure new engagements.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, positioning ALPHA Leadership Co. as a preferred partner for organizational strategy consulting.
  6. Thought Leadership:

    • Contribute to the development of ALPHA Leadership Co.’s intellectual capital by writing articles, delivering presentations, and participating in industry events.
    • Stay abreast of emerging trends and best practices in organizational strategy, leadership development, and change management.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in business administration, organizational development, management, or a related field.
  • 8-10 years of experience in management consulting, with a focus on organizational strategy, leadership development, and change management.
  • Proven track record of leading successful consulting engagements with Fortune 500 companies or large organizations.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence senior executives and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver high-quality results.
  • Deep understanding of organizational design, change management principles, and leadership development best practices.
  • Willingness to travel as required for client engagements.
