Senior Accountant/Tax Senior

Job Summary

We are a small CPA firm in Encino looking for a full-time Senior Accountant/Tax Senior. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the tax industry, excellent communication skills, have an ability to take initiative and prioritize daily tasks.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare individual, partnership, corporate and trust tax returns from client accounting records and information;
  • Review the work of less-experienced staff accountants;
  • Ability to set-up a company in accounting software, do payroll processing, after-the-fact payroll reports, journal entries, bank reconciliation and Income Tax Basis financial statement preparation.
  • Prepare other tax compliance filings from client accounting records and information (1099’s, business license renewal, personal property affidavit, etc.);
  • Communicate and follow-up directly with client for all information required for engagements;
  • Review, organize and provide assistance with client accounting records relate to various engagements;
  • Discuss accounting and tax matters and issues directly with clients;
  • Perform, interpret and apply tax and accounting research;
  • Stay current with accounting industry guidance and other firm-provided education;
  • Expert with Microsoft Excel and proficient with Microsoft Word;
  • Experienced with Lacerte tax preparation software;
  • Experienced with QuickBooks is a plus;
  • Must have good communication skills;
  • Must have good organizational skills in order to maintain multiple engagements at varying stages at all times.
  • Performs related duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field
  • CPA license
  • More than 7 consecutive years of tax preparation experience in CPA firms in recent years.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Starting at $104,000 per year
