Looking for a Senior Accountant will be responsible for the accuracy, reporting, and analysis; and also for generating operating and financial statements and reports.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare journal entries and reconciliation for accrued liabilities
  • Maintain prepaid expenses and other assets/liabilities and post related amortization
  • Prepare and/or review real estate journal entries and reconciliation, which include:
    • Fixed asset addition packages
    • Post depreciation
    • Journals related to real estate acquisitions and dispositions
    • Impairments, write-offs, and fully amortized assets
  • Maintain and reconcile office/ground lease schedules
  • Prepare and reconcile tenant escrow reserves, including quarterly operating expenses/recoveries related to dispositions and transitions
  • Assist with monthly and quarterly financial analyses
  • Assist with quarterly reporting as necessary
  • Assist with quarterly audit and SOX compliance as necessary
  • Other ad-hoc accounting tasks

EDUCATION AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree, preference in Accounting or Finance.
  • 4 - 8 years of accounting experience generating and analyzing financial statements; at least 2 within the Real Estate Property Management Industry.
  • Strong MS excel skills and proficiency with other MS office software.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Understands and applies GAAP in income and expense accounting.
  • Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Analyzes and reports on complex and diverse financial information.
  • Develops realistic project plans; coordinates projects through completion by deadline.
  • Manages competing demands.
  • Responds promptly to internal and external customer needs.
  • Participates in meetings.
  • Contributes to group efforts and shares knowledge and expertise with co-workers.
  • Writes clearly and presents numerical data effectively.
