Job Summary and Responsibilities

The Assistant Controller will prepare and maintain financial records to track the organization’s assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities. 

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

·        None.

Duties/Responsibilities:

·        Assist Controller with the development of the annual budget and monthly and annual financial statements.

·        Maintaining the organizational structure adequate for achieving the department’s goals and objectives.

·        Ensuring the reliability of financial records.

·        Analyze data and identify/investigate/explain unanticipated changes and the absence of anticipated changes.

·        Assist with accounting and consolidation of monthly financials for numerous business entities including posting intercompany activity and reconciling intercompany accounts.

·        Perform additional research and special projects as needed.

Required Skills/Abilities:

·        Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

·        Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

·        Knowledge of general financial accounting.

·        Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.

·        Must possess time management, leadership, communication, and organizational skills necessary to work with Executive team members and third-party vendors.

·        Proficient with accounting software. In-depth knowledge of Acumatica software preferred.

·        Skilled in Excel, proficient in Excel formatting and able to use Pivot Tables and V-Lookup.

·        The ability to use Power BI is a plus.

·        Able to produce and present Power Point presentations.

Education and Experience:

·        Bachelor of Science in Accounting, CPA preferred. (Bachelor of Business or other related degree acceptable if a CPA)

·        5+ years of accounting experience, public accounting experience preferred.
