Freedom Behavioral Hospital of Plainview, Texas is a 20 bed, acute geriatric psych facility located in Plainview, Texas. We are looking for an experienced Health Information Manager (HIM). Previous psychiatric experience in an acute setting is a must. Strong preference given to previous geriatric psych experience. Teamwork, team development and team training are all key qualities for this position. 


Health Information Manager is responsible for successful maintenance of patient records and organizational and administrative operation of the Health Information Management Department. Manages the responsibility for operational aspects of department. Serves as resource for facility regarding medical record content and regulatory requirements. Assures availability of the medical records at all times. Assures duties are done in accordance with facility policies and procedures, Joint Commission, Federal and State regulations and QAPI standards. 


Required education: High school diploma with additional training in Health Information Management department functions (i.e. certified health information management technician or other such certification or training). 


License: State of Practice, if applicable


Experience: At least one-year supervisory experience and five years as an HIM Manager or an equivalent role. Psychiatric HIM experience is preferred to adequately perform duties in this role.
