Upscale tavern in North Palm Beach County seeks a creative Executive Chef to join our team The successful candidate must be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and dedicate time to expanding our clientele base to establish the restaurant's brand and reputation.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Interviews, hires, and manages culinary staff.
  • Assigns and adjusts work schedules to meet business demands.
  • Develops menu items and plate presentations.
  • Checks freshness and quality of ingredients.
  • Trains kitchen personnel in food preparation, cooking techniques and food safety procedures.
  • Ensures that food is prepared and cooked to the highest standards, in accordance with company standards.
  • Estimates food consumption and purchases or requisitions food orders and kitchen supplies.
  • Reviews menus, analyzes recipes, determines food, labor, and overhead costs, and assists in assigning prices to menu items.
  • Supervises culinary and other kitchen personnel and coordinates their assignments to ensure economical and timely food production.
  • Devises special dishes and develops recipes.
  • Complies and enforces all sanitation regulations and safety standards.
  • Establishes cleaning schedules.
  • Maintains a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers.

Experience & Skills:

  • Knowledge of menu planning, food presentation, and restaurant operations.
  • Must possess strong communication, problem solving and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule.

Qualifications:

  • Culinary degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Minimum 5+ years of relevant culinary experience.
  • ServSafe Certification
  • Knowledge of cost and labor systems.
  • Passion for food and cooking techniques.
  • Must be a hands-on, team player.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
