WilliamsRDM is looking for a Shipping and Receiving Supervisor to be responsible for the day-to-day operations in the shipping and receiving department. Responsible for coordinating incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in delivery, and maintaining efficient warehouse operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise daily shipping and receiving operations, including inbound and outbound shipments
  • Ensure accurate processing of receipts and shipments
  • Coordinate with carriers, freight forwarders, and internal stakeholders to schedule shipments and resolve any shipping issues.
  • Train, coach, and motivate shipping & receiving staff to achieve high performance and adherence to safety and quality standards
  • Ensure compliance with internal processes for shipping and receiving
  • Monitor and optimize warehouse space utilization and organization
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the warehouse environment
  • Ensure shipping requirements are understood upon contract award. Ensure there is a valid ship-to address on the contract. Communicate any concerns to contracts.
  • Track when production jobs go to QA for final inspection, and push to complete all remaining steps necessary to ship the product on time. Includes logging in to various government and customer portals and completing necessary forms to prepare for shipping the product.
  • Ensure products are packaged and labeled well and in accordance with contract requirements.
  • Ensure all necessary paperwork (packing slip, CoC, etc) is shipped with products.
  • Understand and apply special shipping and labeling requirements for things like chemicals, batteries, etc
  • Ensure all necessary customer processes are completed prior to shipping orders.
  • Supervise and assist shipping and receiving personnel with the day-to-day shipping and receiving activities
  • May operate dolly, pallet jack, and/or forklift in loading and unloading supplies and equipment; may assist in routine maintenance of equipment and shipping area
  • Follows Quality Policy and Procedures, OSHA guidelines and regulations governing workplace safety

Education and Training:

  • Associates degree or equivalent experience; additional education or certification in logistics or supply chain management is a plus

Skills & Experience:

  • At least seven years of total experience with a minimum of three years of directly related experience in shipping and receiving
  • Strong knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures, inventory management, and warehouse operations
  • Familiarity with ERP or warehouse management systems (WMS).

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in defense industry or with US government/military contract manufacturing
  • General knowledge of complying with AS9100 and/or ISO standards and manufacturing quality systems

Ability To:

  • Work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Communicate frequently, clearly, and effectively at all levels, in writing and verbally
  • Be accountable for meeting deadlines, and hold co-workers accountable for same
  • Establish and maintain cooperative and effective interpersonal working relationships with others, including the ability to effectively lead the resolution of issues or conflicts
  • Use a computer including Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, etc.) and ERP/MRP
  • Organize work for self and others.
  • TX drivers license or equivalent and the ability to safely operate a motor vehicle
