Drayage Customer Service Representative

Summary
The Drayage Customer Service Representative will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely completion of all Customer Work Orders. In doing so, the Drayage CSR will have to continually monitor all work orders in the case important information changes. They will be tasked with performing routine administrative functions as directed by the Transportation Manager as well as the Operations Manager. In addition, they will work closely with Dispatchers and Drivers in coordinating so that the customer’s expectations are met. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills and ability to multitask. This role calls for a high degree of professionalism and requires that the employee maintain strict confidentiality as it relates to customer information.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Receives orders from customers and sales personnel by phone, fax and e-mail
- Process customer orders in V-Intermodal Software the administration of Compcare (VI)
- Confirm Port, Rail, and Customer work order information have the same information. If there are any discrepancies, contact customer immediately
- Confirm all information at Port and Rails are updated to pick-up or receive Export containers
- Verify all export boards on V-Intermodal Software are updated with the most recent First Receiving Date, Cut-Off Date, Last Free Date, Empty Container Pick-Up/Return Depot, Etc.
- Communicate with customers and shipping facility to determine optimal pick-up schedules
- Communicate with customers to ensure proper pre-alerts and documentation
- Track and trace shipment and provide updates to customers
- Advise customers of additional accessorial charges, i.e. Chassis splits, detention time, Etc
- Responsible for updating customers of any ongoing issues, questions, etc. that may arise during the course of delivery/pick-up
- Demonstrate an emphasis on customer satisfaction per company policy
- Confirm all rates are correct
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Is team-oriented and works collaboratively to achieve team goals.
- Monitor emails and respond to customers in a timely manner
- Brings energy, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude to the job.
- Maintain proper attendance and punctuality critical to the operation.
- Other duties and special projects as assigned by management.

- High School Diploma/GED required
- 2+ years of experience in the trucking industry required
- 2+ years of experience in the port container industry required
- 2+ years of CSR Import/Export experience required.
- V-Intermodal Software or experience Compcare Software Products is Highly preferred
- Knowledge and understanding of DOT standards
- Bilingual Preferred
