Summary 

The Materials Handler and Transport is responsible for facilitating the timely delivery of materials to our various job sites and managing our inventory of tools and consumable products. Additionally, they will be asked to handle various, miscellaneous tasks.. An excellent Materials Handler and Transport person  will be a good communicator, well organized, self-motivated, a problem solver, and will treat both coworkers and deliverable items with care and respect. This role does not require the employee to own a large vehicle, as Finish Point will provide what is necessary. 

Responsibilities

Load, transport and unload deliveries to various job sites 

  • This would include items such as: millwork, scaffolding, cabinetry, consumable products, Jobox’s, etc 

                    *10-20% of your job time will include strenuous manual labor in all weather conditions

  • Driving large delivery vehicles and trailers on some remote and mountainous terrain, CDL training may be required

  • An ideal candidate will have a background in delivery driving - this role will be M-F during standard business hours - no weekend or swing shift requirements 

Managing inventory 

  • Maintaining par levels of just over 200 different types of consumable products on shelves in our shop, cleaning, labeling, and organizing the shelves, keeping storage units clean and organized 

Shop maintenance 

  • Handling maintenance and repair (sending to proper repair shops) of our company owned tools, assisting with cleaning and organizing the shop 

Communication 

  • Weekly communication with the Lead Carpenters for job site needs, weekly communication with office staff for ordering inventory, daily communication with the Director for company wide needs

Required Qualifications 

  • Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds without assistance
  • Must be able to load cumbersome objects onto and off of vehicles ● Self motivated 
  • Skill in organization 
  • Skill in communication (written and verbal) 
  • Basic skill in Google Workspace (Sheets)

  • Experience with tool repair 
  • Experience with material transportation
  • Experience with driving large delivery vehicles and trailers
