Position Overview:

The Maintenance Procurement Manager is responsible for managing the procurement of goods, materials, and services essential for the maintenance operations within our organization. The Maintenance Procurement Manager plays a crucial role in optimizing costs, maintaining supplier relationships, and ensuring the timely availability of materials to support operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Sourcing Suppliers:
    • Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with potential suppliers for maintenance-related materials and services.
    • Maintain and manage relationships with existing suppliers to ensure a consistent and reliable supply chain.
  2. Negotiating Contracts:
    • Negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure the best possible pricing, quality, and service levels.
    • Ensure that all contracts align with company policies and objectives, including terms for delivery, payment, and performance.
  3. Managing Procurement Processes:
    • Oversee the entire procurement process for maintenance needs, from initial sourcing to final delivery.
    • Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and procedures.
  4. Cost Management:
    • Monitor and control procurement costs to achieve budgetary goals and optimize spending.
    • Identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality or service levels.
  5. Supplier Relationship Management:

    • Collaborate with inventory management teams to ensure optimal inventory levels, avoiding both stock-outs and overstock situations.
    • Monitor inventory usage and coordinate with maintenance teams to anticipate future needs.
  8. Contract Administration:
    • Administer supplier contracts, including managing renewals, amendments, and performance evaluations.
    • Ensure all contracts are up-to-date and reflect current business needs.
  9. Data Analysis:
    • Analyze procurement data and trends related to maintenance operations to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
    • Provide regular reports and insights to management on procurement performance.
  10. Compliance:
    • Ensure all procurement activities comply with legal and regulatory requirements, including ethical sourcing practices and supplier diversity initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field and/or experience.
  • Proven experience in procurement, ideally within a maintenance or warehousing environment.
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience in contract management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
  • Knowledge of inventory management practices and principles.
  • Familiarity with legal and regulatory requirements related to procurement.

Working Conditions:

  • Full-time position, primarily office-based with occasional visits to supplier sites or company facilities.
  • May require some travel depending on supplier locations and business needs.
