Job DescriptionJob Description

The Sales Manager plays a critical role in driving revenue and fostering customer relationships within a company. They're responsible for a range of tasks, including identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, negotiating deals, and ensuring customer satisfaction. They collaborate closely with other departments like Finance and Operations to streamline processes and meet sales targets. In essence, they're the linchpin between the company's products or services and its customers, ensuring a smooth and profitable sales operation.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Initiate sales and marketing calls to prospective or current clients
  • Attend industry trade shows and perform online research for potential new prospects (such as LinkedIn)
  • Follow up on customer referrals and existing contacts in the company’s database

 

Basic Job Requirements/Desired Skills

·         3-5 years of prior sales management experience in a logistics or manufacturing environment strongly preferred

·         Proficiency in the use of desktop and web-based computer applications (Microsoft Office, Outlook, Warehouse Management System, Internet research)

·         Strong analytical skills and ability to discern detailed customer requirements

·         Knowledge of industry regulations to educate and protect the company and its customers

·         Skillful negotiation, presentation, and closing abilities

·         Excellent interpersonal skills

 

·         Able to build, establish, and maintain high-quality customer relationships that result in mutual profitability

·         Strong customer focus

·         Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

·         College degree preferred
