Job Summary:
Experience in electrical, basic construction, plumbing, HVAC, and refrigeration is preferred. Applicants
must have basic tools, reliable transportation, and a general knowledge of communication and
computers. It is essential for the success of the Flora-Bama that the Maintenance Technician - HVAC
Specialty Apprentice possesses solid technical knowledge and can learn to perform the following tasks:
 Assists in preventive maintenance on all commercial kitchen cooking, refrigeration, and HVAC
equipment.
 Assists in troubleshooting, installing, repairing, and maintaining HVAC and food prep systems.
 Conducts routine inspections to identify and resolve issues
 Assists in diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults in HVAC systems
 Complies with all applicable standards, policies, or procedures, such as safety procedures
Interprets blueprints, specifications, or diagrams to inform installation, development or operation
activities
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
 High School Diploma, GED, or trade school equivalent
 Willingness to learn and open to training and development
 Basic HVAC knowledge
 Valid drivers license
 Dependability and strong work ethic
 Previous HVAC experience is a plus
 HVAC and refrigerant certification (Preferred)
 Ability to work in a warm/hot environment
 Willingness to work weekend hours and some nights
 Ability to multitask and take ownership of various tasks
 Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative independently
 Effective communication skills with guests, peers, and management
 Valid driver’s license
 Basic computer knowledge (how to send and receive emails)
 Ability to lift 50+ pounds
 Constant moving, talking, hearing, reaching, grabbing, and standing for up to 8 consecutive
hours, with occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders

Pay Range: $22-$26 hourly
