Job DescriptionJob Description

Wire & Cable Assembler

This individual will work with wire, connectors, switches, etc to do wire prep such as cut, strip, etc. as well as to build/assemble simple to moderately complex wire and cable harness assemblies. Use of various hand tools specific to the trade as well as bench mounted automated and semi-automated machinery is required.

·         Must be able to read and understand wire prep and wire harness drawings

·         Demonstrated experience in wire preparation work (cutting to length, stripping, etc) and simple to moderately complex wire and cable assemblies.

  • Demonstrated ability to verify that parts being used (wire, connectors and the like) are what is called for on customer drawing or bill of materials.

·         Experience adding terminations and connectors

·         Experience in basic testing of wire and cable assemblies using standard tools and equipment.

·         Ability to hand solder is required.

·         J-STD-001 Soldering certification strongly preferred.

·         IPC /WHMA-620B Certification strongly preferred.

·         Experience with flat ribbon cable a plus.

·         Minimum 3 years of experience in the field; this is not an entry level or beginner position.
