Essential Functions:

  • Work with State and Local Government accounts.
  • Prospects for sales opportunities via telephone, personal visits, mailings, personal letters, internet searches, attending trade shows, industrial events, meetings, and via referrals from existing customers.
  • Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive sales plan for each "target" and "geographic" account covering the full portfolio of Motorola products and services (core and expansion technologies)
  • Act as a trusted adviser to influence customers' technology platforms.
  • Proactively develop large project opportunities.
  • Attends customer meetings via telephone and in person to discuss sales solutions.
  • Makes site and facility visits to observe and determine communication needs and possible solutions.
  • Prepares and presents sales proposals to customers, meeting quotas set by management.
  • Works with supervisor and credit manager to quote prices and credit terms and prepares sales agreements for orders obtained.
  • Estimates delivery date to the customer based on knowledge of the firm's production and delivery schedules.
  • Trains new customers in the use of equipment.
  • Prepares monthly forecasts, sales plans, sales funnel and sales results, and annual forecast reports.
  • Planning sales calls and identifying the Single Sales Objective.
  • Enters new customer data and other sales data for current customers into the database.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with purchasing contacts.
  • Investigate and resolve customer problems with deliveries.
  • Contacts customers after the sale to ensure satisfaction.
  • Attends new product training as needed.
  • Develop and implement plans and strategies for quickly developing their Sales territory.
  • Articulate the value proposition of our products and services to convert prospects to customers.
  • Proven success in the ability to close new business.
  • High-level understanding of radio concepts and a moderate understanding of general wireless technology
  • Other duties as assigned
  • 70% travel

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in sales, customer service, or other related fields.
  • Ability to build rapport with clients.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Deadline and detail-oriented.

Education and/or Experience: One year certificate from college or technical school in sales/communication technology; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Compensation: Combination of a Base + commissions, plus expense reimbursement.
