Job DescriptionJob Description

Wrobel & Associates is seeking a Tax Associate, CPA who will be responsible for tax compliance, tax preparation, and ensuring adherence to tax laws and regulations. The Tax Associate will work closely with clients to gather necessary financial information and provide expert tax advice.

·         Reviews corporate and individual returns and work papers prepared by team members, assessing performance, and providing feedback and training as needed

·         Preparation of individual, corporate and partnership income tax returns, projects, and estimated payments at the federal and state levels

·         Supervises and reviews tax return preparation

·         Preparation and filing of S Corporation elections and state pass through entity elections

·         Researching relevant tax issues based on client needs

·         IRS notice resolutions and representation for customers

·         Preparation and/or review of business account services (Bookkeeping, Payroll, Sales, Tax)

·         Conducts year-end tax planning and tax projections for clients

·         Assists with tax notice/audit coordination and correspondence, including drafting response letters, researching reasons for notices, etc.

·         Builds relationships and interacts with clients to provide excellent planning, consulting, and expertise

·         Coordinates client requests and deliverables, while building trusting relationships to provide excelling planning, consulting, and expertise

·         Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

·         Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field

·         CPA or EA license required

·         Extensive knowledge in corporate and individual tax law

·         5+ years of recent tax preparation experience in public accounting required

·         2-3+ years of recent experience reviewing tax returns

·         Experience using Drake Tax Software, or another tax software preferred

·         Experience with financial statement preparation is a plus

·         Payroll processing and payroll tax reporting, and knowledge of Ohio payroll tax laws is preferred

·         Strong interpersonal and communication skills, not only with clients but with other team members within the Company

·         Comfortability with technology and the ability to embrace necessary software applications
