Position Overview

MMW Group LLC is looking for a Tax Consultant, CPA to oversee tax compliance, tax preparation, and adherence to tax regulations. The Tax Consultant will collaborate with clients to collect essential financial data and deliver expert tax guidance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate corporate and individual tax returns and work papers produced by team members, providing performance assessments, feedback, and training as necessary.
  • Prepare individual, corporate, and partnership income tax returns, projects, and estimated payments at both federal and state levels.
  • Supervise and review the preparation of tax returns.
  • Handle the preparation and submission of S Corporation elections and state pass-through entity elections.
  • Conduct research on pertinent tax issues based on client requirements.
  • Resolve IRS notices and represent clients as needed.
  • Prepare and/or review business account services, including bookkeeping, payroll, sales, and tax.
  • Conduct year-end tax planning and projections for clients.
  • Assist with tax notice and audit coordination, including drafting response letters and investigating the reasons for notices.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with clients to deliver exceptional planning, consulting, and expertise.
  • Coordinate client requests and deliverables while fostering trusting relationships to provide outstanding planning, consulting, and expertise.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • CPA or EA license is mandatory.
  • In-depth knowledge of corporate and individual tax law.
  • Minimum of 5 years of recent tax preparation experience in public accounting.
  • 2-3 years of recent experience in reviewing tax returns.
  • Familiarity with Drake Tax Software or similar tax software is preferred.
  • Experience in financial statement preparation is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of payroll processing and payroll tax reporting, particularly Ohio payroll tax laws, is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, essential for interaction with clients and team members.
  • Comfort with technology and the ability to adapt to necessary software applications.
