REQUIREMENTS: (PLEASE DO NOT APPLY IF YOU DO NOT MEET THESE REQUIREMENTS)

  • You MUST be a Michigan resident with a current, unrestricted LMSW or LPC Clinical License in the state of Michigan

  • You MUST have at least 2 years of post-LMSW/LPC clinical experience

  • You MUST have at least 1 year of clinical experience in a private practice setting

  • You MUST have and maintain current Professional Liability Insurance while employed with GSCC

  • You MUST be able to pass a background check and drug screen

  • Previous experience supervising SW/MC Student Interns or LLMSWs or LLPCs (highly desired but not required)

POSITION DETAILS/COMPENSATION:

Employment Status: 1099 Independent Contractor

Location: Fully Remote with option to work in-office at Waterford clinic as needed

Rate of Pay (hourly): $100.00 per hour, per student intern supervised 1:1 at the required one hour per week

Additional Compensation: Prorated compensation will be provided for the following:

  1. Supervisor’s time spent on engaging in clinical consultation calls/texts requested by assigned student interns outside of that student’s 1:1 weekly supervision time (not to exceed 30 mins per student, per week)

  2. Supervisor’s time spent on completing student evaluation forms each mid-term/semester (not to exceed 30 mins per student, per mid-term/semester evaluation forms due)

SCHEDULE: You can supervise as little as 2 students per week and as many as 12

Pay Schedule: Bi-Weekly (direct deposit)

PTO: PTO is not offered with this position. Site Supervisors are required to arrange and provide all weekly supervision hours for each assigned student intern in collaboration with the student’s availability.

Benefits: No benefits are offered with this position.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Clinical Internship Program Site Supervisor is responsible for meeting 1:1 with assigned student intern(s) weekly for one hour (remote or in-person), and to provide them with feedback regarding their treatment and care of patients on their caseload while completing their internship at GSCC as follows:

Training is provided: Site Supervisors are required to complete a 1 hour new-hire Orientation with Company Director to be trained on Company processes, protocols, and EMR system (inSync) prior to start date to ensure Site Supervisor is proficient in their ability to review and supervise assigned student intern(s).

Review of Clinical Documentation and Consultation Responsibilities:

  • Site Supervisors are responsible for ensuring the university has the documentation they require such as; the site supervisors resume’, certification of ability to supervise assigned student interns, and contact information.

  • Site Supervisors will be required to sign an Internship Agreement for each assigned student intern outlining both parties' contact information, internship placement dates, and agreed upon student intern/supervisor expectations for the duration of the internship.

  • During weekly 1:1 supervision with assigned student interns, the site supervisor will review the intern’s documentation in each patient's virtual patient chart in inSync, our electronic medical records system.

  • During initial patient chart reviews, supervisors are responsible for ensuring all clinical documentation, including the diagnosis, treatment plan, progress note, biopsychosocial assessment, and other required assessments are completed at intake, and done in a timely manner.

  • During ongoing weekly patient chart reviews, site supervisors are also responsible for ensuring that all ongoing clinical documentation is completed in a timely manner and must ensure clinical accuracy of said clinical documentation.

  • If any corrections are needed to an assigned student intern’s clinical documentation for any patients on their caseload, the site supervisor is responsible for providing timely feedback detailing the corrections that are needed and ensuring that those corrections have been made prior to signing off on those patient’s encounters and submitting for billing.

  • In addition to the weekly 1:1 hourly supervision time, site supervisors are responsible for returning calls and/or texts to students who seek clinical consultation regarding clinical practice and/or dilemmas outside of the weekly 1:1 supervision time. Site supervisors will be compensated at a prorated rate for any such occurrences not to exceed 30 minutes per week per student (see compensation details in attached employment contract).

  • The clinical director will provide training and orientation to site supervisors so they are proficient in their abilities to review and supervise each student intern they are assigned.

Student Attendance, Performance and Evaluation Responsibilities:

  • Site Supervisors are responsible for meeting with each assigned student intern at the commencement of their placement with GSCC and discuss/review all documentation that is required by that student’s university for their site supervisor to complete.

  • Site Supervisors will be responsible for assisting each new student intern complete/establish their initial practice/practicum goals document (Learning Plan) in order to establish concrete clinical competency goals and timelines that the student will be working towards achieving during their practicum placement while at GSCC.

  • Site Supervisors are responsible for signing off on assigned student intern’s logged/completed practice hours on a weekly, bi-weekly or monthly basis (as required by each university) to ensure the student is meeting their required weekly hours (number of hours/scheduled required for each student’s placement will be listed in their Internship Agreement).

  • If any attendance or performance issues arise, the site supervisor is responsible for addressing attendance issues directly with their student intern and their assigned faculty liaison from their university.

  • If a Corrective Action Plan (CAP) is required by the student intern’s faculty liaison to address any attendance or performance issues, the site supervisor will be responsible for completing the corrective action plan. documentation, monitoring student performance in relation to the CAP, and communicating with the faculty liaison on the student’s progress/compliance, and any additional corrective action that may result from this.

  • The Site Supervisor will also be responsible for immediately informing the Director of Clinical Internship Programs of any students who are placed on a CAP and any tentative decision to terminate a student intern’s placement due to noncompliance with the CAP prior to informing the faculty liaison of this decision as the Director is responsible for any final decisions regarding termination of a student intern’s placement.

  • Site Supervisors are responsible for completing student evaluations to evaluate the student’s performance and progress towards established practicum goals, at various intervals, typically once a semester.

  • Students complete a supervision form after each supervision meeting with the site supervisor and the supervisor is then responsible to review this form, add a comment and sign digitally.

  • Site supervisor is also responsible for completing a monthly supervisor report form for each student intern supervised to be submitted to the Director of the Clinical Internship Programs on the last day of each month via email for student intern records.

  • Some communication between the university Field Site Supervisor, internship coordinator, and the instructor for the internship class the student is attending. This is usually done through email or by phone so there is some collaboration in the assessment of the students progress toward their academic and career goals.

  • Site supervisors will be compensated at a prorated rate for the time it takes to complete any student evaluation paperwork to be discussed/reviewed during the 1:1 weekly supervision. Such occurrences are not to exceed 30 minutes per semester, per student.
