AV Installation Technology Specialist

RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Event and/or Installations:
• Set Up: Install and set up audiovisual systems, including, but not limited to, wiring and placement of speakers, amplifiers, displays, projectors, microphones, etc., ensuring proper functionality and performance.
• Configuration/Programming: Configure AV systems and components, including audio processors, video processors, switchers, and control systems, according to project specifications and design requirements.
• Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough testing and quality assurance checks on installed AV systems to verify compliance with project standards, customer requirements, and industry best practices.
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues with AV systems, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions to resolve problems promptly.
• Client Interaction: Interact with clients and project stakeholders to understand their needs, provide technical guidance, obtain documentation sign-offs as needed upon work completion (when applicable), and ensure customer satisfaction throughout installation.
• Training and Support: Provide end-users with training and technical support on operating and maintaining AV systems, as needed, empowering them to utilize technology effectively. When/where appropriate, educate clients on the benefits of Global AV Group Monitoring Services.
• Team Collaboration: Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to coordinate installation activities, share technical knowledge, and achieve project objectives effectively.
2. Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines during AV installations, promoting a safe working environment and minimizing risks to Global AV Group, team members, and client property.
3. Continuous Learning: Stay updated on emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in AV installation and integration, seeking opportunities for professional development and skills enhancement.
Education:
• Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Audio Engineering, or related field.
Work Experience:
• Minimum of 3+ years experience installing audio, video, and/or audiovisual presentation systems and IT/Networks
• Must have experience working on audio-visual systems such as A, B, C, and D
• Strong understanding of complex wiring configurations and IP Networking
• Proficiency in AV system design, installation, and troubleshooting
• In-depth knowledge of audio processing, video conferencing, control systems, and multimedia technologies
• Experience installing and programming AV systems using BSS and/or QSC systems (Audio Architect, Q-SYS)
• Minimum of 1-2 years installing audiovisual equipment, including video panels, speakers, racking, microphones, A/V cabling, and wiring
• Hands-on experience in the fabrication and/or installation of complex Audio Visual Systems
• Ability to read and interpret CAD drawings
• Ability to coordinate multiple team members in a high-paced environment
• Working knowledge of basic IT principles and protocols
• Entry-level knowledge of Project Management and Project Coordinating
Technology: Skilled or certified to use:
• ProjX360
• QSC Q-sys
• BSS Audio Architect
Certifications:
• OSHA 30 Certification
• Q-SYS Level 1 and 2
• BSS Audio Programmer (Audio Architect)
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
• Must have a vehicle and valid driver's license.
• A clean criminal record.• Ability to travel to multiple locations and outside the local area as needed (expenses are paid).
• Ability to learn new technologies and equipment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to do advanced troubleshooting on any device.
• Ability to be consultative and clearly communicate potential issues or challenges and recommend solutions.
• The ability to stand for long durations, lift 50-60 lbs., climb, crawl, and raise items overhead.
• Ability to work independently, be self-directed, and make sound decisions based on client satisfaction.
