Accountant II

  • Location: Mobile, Alabama
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday
  • Type: Full-Time

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain financial records for designated activities, functions, and facilities, including:
    • Analyzing financial data and reports
    • Preparing journal entries
    • Providing documentation and support for financial transactions
    • Conducting account analysis and balancing
    • Calculating allowances, provisions, and other accounting functions
    • Reviewing postings to the Financial Accounting System for accuracy
    • Creating new accounts as necessary
  • Assign accounting codes for various expenditures, billings, receipts, and other transactions
  • Review and verify codes, account numbers, authorizations, and classifications
  • Assist in the preparation of accurate and complete financial statements
  • Prepare various reports and summarize information from different financial reporting systems
  • Prepare worksheets, analyses, summaries, and other financial reports for management and third-party submissions
  • Review and verify the work of other personnel
  • Provide training for other staff members
  • Perform special projects and other tasks as assigned
  • Communicate in person and via telephone
  • Maintain regular and prompt attendance
  • Work the defined schedule and additional hours as required
  • Perform related duties as needed

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting from an accredited institution approved by the company
  • Two years of professional accounting experience
