Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced CNC Operator and Department Head to
join our dynamic sign company. The ideal candidate will oversee the CNC department,
ensuring the efficient production of high-quality signs. This role combines hands-on CNC
machine operation with leadership responsibilities, requiring both technical expertise and
strong managerial skills.
Key Responsibilities:
CNC Operation:
- Set up, program, and operate CNC machines to produce sign components according to
design specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD files.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime.
- Ensure the quality and accuracy of finished products through regular inspections and
adherence to quality control standards.
Department Management:
- Lead and manage the CNC department, including scheduling, workflow coordination, and
performance management.
- Train and mentor CNC operators and other team members, fostering a collaborative and
productive work environment.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for CNC operations.
- Monitor department performance and productivity, making adjustments as necessary to
meet production targets and deadlines.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with the design, production, and installation teams to ensure seamless project
execution.
- Communicate effectively with other departments to coordinate project timelines and
requirements.
- Participate in regular meetings with the operations manager and other department heads to
discuss progress, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.

Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions to enhance
efficiency and quality.
- Stay updated on industry trends, advancements in CNC technology, and best practices in
sign manufacturing.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a culture of safety within the
department.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in CNC machining or
related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience operating CNC machines, with at least 2 years in a
leadership or supervisory role.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and CAD files.
- Strong understanding of CNC programming and machine operation.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Proven ability to lead, train, and effectively work with a team.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
