The Contract Conformance Specialist (CCS) is responsible for overseeing the compliance of all executed contracts for assigned capital and maintenance projects. This role ensures that all contractual obligations between the company and contractors are met by managing documentation flow and communication. The CCS facilitates the prompt resolution of contractual issues and interacts with various departments, including legal, project management, and construction management. Reporting directly to the Area Construction Manager and indirectly to the Contract Conformance Regional Lead (CCRL), the CCS handles projects with a combined value of up to $400 million and a duration of up to four years.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure adherence to project execution contracting strategies and facilitate the creation of contract exhibits, including scope, specifications, and pricing.
- Assist in drafting technical contract language and support contract negotiations during the bidding and formation phases.
- Coordinate with the contract management team to integrate project-specific requirements and contractor clarifications into final contract documents.
- Manage the change order process, including tracking, generating directives, and preparing change orders.
- Review contractor submissions for compliance, maintain documentation logs, and handle correspondence.
- Implement contract document control systems, review invoices, and oversee contract close-out procedures.
- Support project teams and provide training on contract conformance, participate in contract-related meetings, and prepare reports.
Desired Qualifications:
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build collaborative relationships across departments.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Experience in managing complex contracting issues and supporting negotiations.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision and prioritize effectively.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction, legal, technical, or business discipline with at least 4 years of relevant experience, preferably in the gas pipeline industry; or
- Associate’s degree with 7-10 years of relevant experience in contract administration or conformance.
- Knowledge of contracting processes and issues related to energy industry construction projects.
